The University of Ibadan (UI) is one of the stricter Nigerian universities on JAMB scores, and it has already published departmental aggregate cut-offs for several faculties for the 2026/2027 session. Here’s what’s confirmed.
UI cut-off mark at a glance
- Minimum JAMB/UTME score to be eligible for UI’s post-UTME screening: 200.
- 200 is well above JAMB’s national floor of 150 for 2026 — UI is one of the higher-bar universities.
- UI has already released partial departmental aggregate cut-offs (its own 0-100 scale, not your raw JAMB score) for Medicine, Computing and some Science departments.
- Meeting the JAMB threshold only qualifies you for screening — the departmental aggregate score decides actual admission.

Candidates need a JAMB score of 200 or above to be eligible for UI’s post-UTME screening exercise for 2026/2027. Scoring below this disqualifies a candidate from screening outright, regardless of department.

These are UI’s own post-screening aggregate scores (not your raw JAMB score) for a sample of departments that have published figures so far:
- Medicine and Surgery — 80.00 (first list, College of Medicine)
- Dentistry — 72.875
- Nursing Science — 74.5
- Software Engineering — 75.375
- Computer Science — 74.125
- Data Science — 51.5
- Geology — 52.375
- Botany — 50.00
UI releases these department-by-department over the admission cycle, so departments not listed here may not have published their figures yet. Check UI’s official admissions page for the complete, current list.
