Job Vacancies:

We are currently seeking dedicated and skilled individuals to fill the following vacancies:

  1. Water Treatment Plant Operator (Level II):

    1. Brief Description: Responsible for the operation and maintenance of a municipal water treatment plant, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of potable water to residents. This includes monitoring equipment, conducting water quality tests, adjusting chemical dosages, and maintaining accurate records in compliance with South African National Standards (SANS 241).
    2. Location: Polokwane Water Treatment Plant.
  2. Administrative Assistant (Finance Department):

    1. Brief Description: Provides administrative and clerical support to the Finance Department, including data entry, processing invoices, managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, and assisting with budget preparation in accordance with the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA).
    2. Location: Capricorn District Municipality Head Office, Polokwane
  3. Parks and Recreation Maintenance Worker:

    1. Brief Description: Maintains municipal parks, sports fields, and recreational facilities. This includes landscaping, mowing, equipment maintenance, minor repairs, and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of public spaces.
    2. Location: Various locations across the Capricorn District Municipality.
  4. Civil Engineer (Roads and Stormwater):

    1. Brief Description: Responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of municipal roads, stormwater drainage systems, and related infrastructure. Conduct site inspections, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with relevant South African engineering standards and regulations.
    2. Location: Capricorn District Municipality Head Office, Polokwane.
  5. Bylaw Enforcement Officer:

    1. Brief Description: Enforces municipal bylaws related to property standards, traffic, noise, animal control, and other local regulations. This includes responding to complaints, conducting investigations, issuing notices and fines, and preparing reports for court proceedings, if necessary.
    2. Location: Various locations across the Capricorn District Municipality.

Qualifications (General – Specific requirements will vary by position):

  • Education: A National Senior Certificate (Matric) is generally required. Some positions may require a specific National Diploma, BTech, or Degree (e.g., Water Treatment Operator certification, Civil Engineering degree, Public Administration diploma). Qualifications must be SAQA accredited.

  • Skills:
